Toska Cooper is a Project Manager at the UNC Injury Prevention Research Center (IPRC) and Assistant Health Services Officer in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (USPHS) Ready Reserve. In her role at IPRC she primarily manages research projects under the areas of suicide prevention and opioid disorder and overdose. Additionally, she assists with Center wide reporting and grant submissions to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As a USPHS Ready Reservists, Ms. Cooper holds the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade and in deployment roles she functions as a health educator and case manager. Prior to her work at the IPRC and the USPHS, Ms. Cooper served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member and a program consultant for the Injury and Violence Prevention Branch at the NC Division of Public Health. Toska supports community-based educational programs focused on naloxone training and distribution. Currently, she is pursuing the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) to enhance her knowledge of project management and health education. Outside of her professional interests, Toska loves serving her community. She is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and a dedicated Habitat for Humanity volunteer.
